The Rural Development Association, Bamon Kampu Makha Leikai, Imphal East, Manipur (RDA) was Established on the 1st April 2000 at Bamon Kampu Makha Leikai, Imphal East, Manipur by a group of young, energetic dynamic youths of different discipline with focus of social welfare as well as women empowerment of the society for peace and harmony and registered under the Manipur Societies Act 1989 (Act of 1990) bearing Registration Number 187/IE/SR/of 2000 on the 24th November 2000. The Head Quarters RDA is situated at Bamon Kampu Makha Leikai, Imphal East, Manipur, Pin – 795008. The jurisdiction of the organization is whole of Manipur State. The Secretary of the Organization, as Chief Executive and the Chief Correspondent.
The Society is non-profit making, non-communal Trust based on aims at social, economic, educational, cultural and traditional welfare and wellbeing of all persons irrespective of caste, creed, race, sex and religion to eradicate and liberate from the bondage of socio-economic backwardness of the youth, women flocks. The Rural Development Association (RDA) aims to promote livelihood to the people by upgrading the traditional knowledge and skill of the people and increase their income, eradicate the problem of poverty and unemployment.
The Association had started working its development activities in the spheres of community enlistment since its inception for the benefit of poor and marginal community whole of Manipur for sustainable and comprehensive development with its limited resources. The RDA has been organized a series of Peoples Participatory Process meeting and workshop with the village Leaders, Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts, Youths and women groups and motivated the people to organize themselves to undertake development works on Self Society and induce the government departments and other agencies to join hand with the people at the village level for bringing up sustainable atmosphere of the communities. The society has involved in the activities to create people awareness about the problems of community and educate the remedial measures among the common people.
The Rural Development Association presently emphasized at the selected village hill district Manipur where no other NGOs/VO are working with Association registered under Foreign Contribution and Regulation Act (FCRA) Regd. No. 19413029 and Income tax Act.
The Rural Development Association, Bamon Kampu Makha Leikai Imphal East, Manipur strongly believes on Peoples’ Participatory Process (PPP), which is an instrument to bring an ultimate sustainable development. Therefore, all the responsible in identifying and analyzing problem planning, implanting, monitoring and internal evaluation of the project should be done by the people themselves. The only role for the society is facilitating for effective execution or the process
